On 23 May 2024, a Multiplier Event of the Foreign Workers in Social Sector project took place in Athens,Greece, bringing together social service professionals, managers, and HR specialists to share key findings and outputs from the project. The event focused on showcasing critical resources and tools available to support the integration of foreign workers into the social sector along with a comprehensive training program developed, which is available as a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC).
A central highlight of the event was the presentation of the project's official website, which serves as a valuable resource hub. The website provides access to a wide range of materials, including examples of good practices from other countries, research findings, and tools specifically designed for use in the Greek social services context. These resources are aimed at helping social service organizations in Greece adopt effective strategies for attracting and integrating foreign workers.
Participants were also introduced to the comprehensive training program that is available through the MOOC platform. The training program is designed to support the integration of foreign workers into the social sector, with modules covering topics such as promoting the attractiveness of the social sector, navigating administrative procedures, and fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The platform is designed to be user-friendly and compatible with various devices, ensuring that managers and HR professionals can easily access the training materials and apply the knowledge in their daily work. Participants were also informed about the certificate of completion available upon finishing the course, which serves as a formal recognition of their enhanced competencies in managing diversity and supporting foreign workers in social services.
This event was a crucial step in the project's progress, promoting the use of available resources, and preparing stakeholders for the upcoming launch of the MOOC platform, all with the goal of improving the working conditions and integration of foreign workers in Greece.
